This past weekend, my brother-in-law and I took a trip down to Laurel River Lake, in KY. The water was fairly calm and clear, and beeing January, there weren't many boats out. In fact, there were no other trailers in the Holly Bay parking lot. The weather was overcast in the mid 40's to start the morning, but wind blew in around noon and made conditions quite colder and made boat positioning much more difficult.
I caught a little trout on the shoreline with a white 4 in. grub on a white 1/4 inch jighead. My brother-in-law caught a little trout on a slip-sinker/minnow rig at about 15 ft. deep.
Though we were pushed out of the lake by the wind a bit earlier that we would have liked, it was nice to get out and enjoy a day of fishing. A day at the lake beats a day at the office any day.

Tough lake to fish, so it was nice to not come back empty-handed. I feel like there are sizable fish in there to be caught.
